The main goal of our activities is to carry out the renovation of Joseph Mehoffer’s crafts, which are seated in the Holly Heart of Jesus Christ’s Church in Turek. Those crafts are the work of his life and an example of the prevalent trends in the period of Young Poland.

 

We also wish to make sure that the local citizens of Turek town, as well as other citizens of the whole country, learn about the beautiful stained glasses and polychromes decorating the interior of our church.

 

On 25 May 2009, a special Committee for Renovating the Polychromes of J. Mehoffer in the Holly Heart of Jesus Christ’s Church in Turek was established. This committee will try to gain the necessary funds. For the time being, the Committee consists of 27 persons, all volunteers, whose task is to collect money from various sources in a number of ways in order to preserve the priceless craft of J. Mehoffer.

 

The Committee is not a non-governmental organization. Nor is it an association. It is a community body who performs community service. Its members devote their free time and means to the case of the polychromes. The Committee is not a closed body but is open for new members. It is necessary to have people who would support our work with concrete actions. Those actions are not limited to our town and poviat. We will try to gain the means from the people who were born in the town, but then left towards various parts of Poland and the world. We also aim at people connected with culture, craft and art, as well as artists themselves. We, too, hope for the favour of entrepreneurs, their friends and cooperating companies.
